First Visit to Our Clinic:
To begin treatment, patients with OUD must abstain from using opioids for at least 12 to 24 hours and be in the early stages of opioid withdrawal. Patients who have opioids in their bloodstream or are not in the early stages of withdrawal may experience acute withdrawal symptoms.
Once a patient has discontinued or significantly reduced their opioid use, has no cravings, and is experiencing minimal side effects, the dose of buprenorphine may be adjusted if needed. The length of time a patient receives buprenorphine is personalized to meet individual needs, and in some cases, treatment can be indefinite. If transitioning from methadone to buprenorphine, patients must abstain from methadone for up to 72 hours and be in moderate withdrawal before starting treatment with buprenorphine.
During your initial visit to our facility, you will meet with several members of our team to create an individualized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. Please bring a valid west virginia photo id and your insurance information on your first visit, and allocate approximately two hours for your appointment.
