“MEET MARY HACKNEY”
Mary Hackney has been a family nurse practitioner for 18 years and has worked in addiction care for over 5 years. When she founded Delta Lifestyle Solutions LLC, her primary goal was to serve those in her community who needed help the most—individuals suffering from opioid dependency and untreated mental health issues. Mary and her team, which includes another family nurse practitioner with extensive experience in opioid dependency, a registered nurse, two medical assistants, four social workers, and a licensed professional counselor with ALPS, are dedicated to meeting the needs of their patients.
What is Buprenorphine?
Buprenorphine is the first medication approved for treating opioid use disorder (OUD) that can be prescribed or dispensed in physician offices, significantly improving access to treatment. Like all medications used in treatment, Buprenorphine should be part of a comprehensive treatment plan that includes counseling and other supportive services, providing patients with a holistic approach to their care. Buprenorphine is an opioid partial agonist with unique pharmacological properties that:
- Diminish the effects of physical dependency on opioids, such as withdrawal symptoms and cravings
- Increase safety in cases of overdose
- Lower the potential for misuse
